"Membership in the European Union remains a strategic goal for Turkiye," the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the remarks during a joint press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Ankara, APA's Türkiye correspondent reports.
"It is clear that our membership will make significant contributions to both the union and our country. Recent events have further strengthened Türkiye's position as a key country," Erdogan stressed.
